Msambweni 3 bedroom Villas, long term

Relax in the shade
Relax in the shade

Do you feel like living in peace and space and away from it all? This 6 acre property is 2nd row Msambweni and only a 5-10 minute walk to a beautiful, sandy beach with hardly anyone on it except for the fishermen. There are 2 x 3 bedroom villas and a 1 bedroom cottage on the compound, all sharing a large swimming pool and

all well equipped.

Msambweni is an unspoilt area of Kenya’s south coast, with a deserted and seemingly endless stretch of white beach, lapped by the Indian Ocean and fringed by palm trees. The walk to the beach is through a lovely path with lots of tropical birds and a monkey or two.

Local attractions and shopping

If you can tear yourself away from the pool, the villas are within short walking distance of one of the most beautiful beaches in Kenya. To access the beach, turn right out of the driveway and immediately left. Follow the track for approx seven minutes (or approx 400M) through a lush tropical forest to the beach. The staff on duty will be more than happy to show you the path down to the beach.

The beach is natural, almost totally undeveloped, with no big hotels, no hoards of tourists, and no beach boys! Miles of golden sand, bordered on one side by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, and on other side by rich topical forest and occasional private properties. Fantastic snorkelling and swimming, right out to the coral reef.

Although Msambweni village is small, it has a selection of small shops and kiosks selling basic food and household supplies, fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and beer. Fishermen with daily catches of fish and crustaceans also visit the villas daily.

Diani Beach is a more developed tourist resort just 25km north of Msambweni. It has four reasonably large supermarkets selling a wide range of European food, and many smaller shops selling most things. Fun activities in Diani: diving, kite surfing, wind surfing, kayaking, fishing, camel rides, a good selection of bars and restaurants. Diani also has two modern and well-equipped private hospitals. From Diani, the Shimba Hills National Reserve and Mwaluganji Elephant Sanctuary are just 40 minutes drive. 1 or 2 day safaris to nearby Tsavo East and West National Parks can be organised from the many safari companies in Diani.

South of Msambweni, you reach Shimoni, nearby Wasini Island and the Marine Park. Day trips to the Marine Park, with lunch on Wasini Island and a visit to the slave caves, are very popular. The famous Pemba Channel Fishing Club is also located in Shimoni.
